UTS Scholarships

Funded by the Australian government and individual UTS faculties, a number of scholarships are available to eligible applicants for both undergraduate and postgraduate study at UTS. The level of assistance provided ranges from a partial contribution towards fees to full payment of fees as well as certain living expenses. The award of each scholarship is governed by a set of eligibility criteria and certain scholarships may only be available to residents of specific countries.

The following scholarship programs currently fund a significant number of international students at UTS, however many other options may be available.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

Each year UTS receives a number of Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS) from the Australian Government. These cover tuition fees and basic health insurance for international students undertaking a Master's by Research or PhD, for the duration of the course. IPRS scholarship recipients can also apply to be considered for a UTS President’s Scholarship which provides a living allowance during their stay in Australia. The scholarship selection committee will award IPRS scholarships on the basis of academic merit and research capacity to applicants whose intended area of study is in an area of research concentration for UTS.

The Peace Scholarship Trust

The Peace Scholarship Trust provides opportunities for eligible students in selected countries worldwide to study abroad in Australia for one or two semesters. The Trust aims to foster enduring global peace through facilitating the interaction of diverse cultures and improving cross-cultural understanding. UTS is one of the institutions that offers scholarships under the Peace Scholarship Trust program.

Endeavour Programme

The Endeavour Programme is an internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship programme that forms part of the Australian Government’s Australian Scholarships initiative. The scholarships offered are a mix of postgraduate, undergraduate, vocational and technical education courses, as well as research and professional development awards. They are open to all fields of study. The focus of the Endeavour Programme is to strengthen education linkages between Australia and the region. Endeavour Programme awardees are able to undertake their studies at UTS
