Innovative and Practical Research
UTS conducts research in both national and international contexts, and across public, private and community sectors. As a key member of the Australian Technology Network, a prestigious coalition of five leading Australian universities, UTS works closely with other institutions both in Australia and internationally. In recent years the University’s 6 research institutes, 8 research centres, 9 research groups and 7 national collaborative centers have made groundbreaking contributions across the full spectrum of industry.

A cosmopolitan experience of Sydney
UTS is an urban, multi-campus university spanning three locations across the Sydney metropolitan area. From the centre of Sydney, across the Harbour Bridge to the native bushland of the Kuring-gai Chase National Park, each UTS campus has its own unique culture and atmosphere. All UTS campuses are easily accessible by public transport and are no more than a short bus ride from the City centre. However many students use the free UTS shuttle bus which commutes regularly between the campuses.
The main campus, the City campus, is located in the centre of the city of Sydney, close to the commercial hub and Sydney’s main train station, Central Railway Station. Most UTS courses are offered at the City campus and students are ideally placed to take advantage of being in the centre of a cosmopolitan and dynamic city.
Support: facilities and student services
UTS understands the diverse backgrounds and therefore the different needs of its students. UTS students enjoy a wide range of services and facilities. These include English language support, learning assistance centres, student and career counselling, health and housing services, sporting facilities, a peer support network, and student orientation.
All UTS students can easily access to hundreds of computer terminals in addition to specialised faculty laboratories and library computer facilities. The UTS library houses more than 650,000 books, journals and audiovisual items as well as extensive media and language resources.
