UniSA offers a variety of fitness and sporting activities, ranging from sporting clubs to the newly revamped Health and Fitness Centre located at the City East campus.

Be involved in the Australian University Games, hosted by Adelaide in 2006. Rockclimbing, Taekwondo, cricket and soccer are just a few of the sport and recreation clubs you can join at UniSA.

A way to meet new people is to join one of UniSA’s Student Association’s clubs or societies, some of which have been specifically established for international students.

You could join a cricket team, take up ballroom dancing, try your hand at chess, indulge your passion for Japanese animation or discover a taste for hip hop music.

With over 90 clubs and societies the possibilities are endless – and if you can’t find a club or society that interests you, you can start one yourself. They’re a great way to meet new friends, see some of Australia and learn new skills.

You could find yourself embarking on a day-trip to the beautiful Adelaide Hills or coastal VictorHarbor, enjoying food and music from all over the world during Multicultural Week or indulging in music, food, drink and great company at one of UniSA’s Student Association’s many social gatherings.

With its rich cultural background, Adelaide is home to a vast array of restaurants and the largest fresh produce market in the southern hemisphere – in fact, South Australia is often regarded as the food and wine centre of Australia.

Adelaide is particularly well known as the nation’s festival capital, hosting the biennial Festival of Arts, Fringe Festival and WOMADelaide, in addition to an annual calendar full of multicultural, music, comedy and food festivals and events.

From the inspiring atmosphere at events such as Writers’ Week and the Festival of Ideas, to the gastronomic appeal of our various food and wine festivals, you’re sure to find plenty of opportunities to get involved in Adelaide’s festival scene.

Sporting enthusiasts won’t miss out either.

Each year, Adelaide hosts a variety of premier national and international sporting events including street circuit motor racing, tennis and golf championships, one-day and Test series cricket at the panoramic Adelaide Oval, and Australian Rules football. It is also the venue for the annual Tour Down Under cycling event which features some of the world’s top professional cycling teams, including a team supported by UniSA.

A chaplain is available to all students and staff for details regarding religious events and groups on campus, as well as providing pastoral care for a wide range of needs. They are provided by specific denominations but are open to being a resource for anyone seeking their service.

The City West, City East and MawsonLakes campuses offer international student common rooms where you can meet other students and share your experiences. Prayer rooms for Muslim students are also available on each metropolitan campus.
