University of South Australia

Studying at UniSA means earning more than just a degree – it is a unique chance to develop friendships and networks, explore new cultural horizons and, most importantly, enjoy a unique educational experience that will thoroughly prepare you for professional and personal success.

UniSA was established in 1991 but through our antecedent institutions, we have a 150-year history of providing tertiary education in South Australia. UniSA has a student population of 32,000 and is the largest university in South Australia. UniSA has 5 campuses, 4 in Adelaide and 1 in Whyalla (approximately 400 kms North-west of Adelaide)

Today UniSA is one of Australia’s most modern and progressive education and research institutions. Since 1999, UniSA and members of our academic staff have also received four prestigious Australian Awards for University Teaching in recognition of our distinctive teaching and learning initiatives and approaches.

Experience. The Difference.

At UniSA, we understand that education is about much more than just taking notes during a lecture. To be truly informed about your field of study, you need to know how to apply the theories you have learned in industry and the workplace. Most of our students have the chance to get out of the lecture theatre and into the real world to gain practical experience during their studies. For example, depending on the program you choose, you could find yourself conducting experiments in a hospital or laboratory during a clinical placement; studying fossils, native wildlife, textile history or Aboriginal culture on an outback field trip; working with leaders from industry and the professions on the development and implementation of strategic business plans; or assisting teachers during a practicum placement in a childcare, pre-school or school classroom environment.

Academic areas

UniSA has four Divisions:

- Division of Business;
- Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences;
- Division of Health Sciences; and
- Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment.

Quality
After rigorous assessment, UniSA’s Division of Business was only the second business school in Australia to receive European Quality Endorsement System (EQUIS) accreditation for its onshore and offshore programs.

UniSA is a proud member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN), a coalition of five leading universities which together teach more than 20% of the Australian university population.

Support Services

At UniSA, we’ve worked hard to develop a range of academic, social and personal support services that can assist you right throughout your program of study, whether you’re studying with us in South Australia or anywhere around the world.

From before you leave home and through to your graduation day, UniSA’s support services can help you settle in, excel in your studies and make the most of your experiences in Australia.

UniSA’s Learning Connection service is available to provide study support and personal counselling, and offers a range of services specifically designed to assist international students.
