Accommodation Services
Students studying at UQ live in three main types of accommodation: on-campus residential colleges, off-campus student housing, and off-campus rental houses or units. UQ's Accommodation Services can help students find temporary and longer-term accommodation and also provide ongoing accommodation advice and assistance. Accommodation Services also arranges to meet all newly arrived enrolling students at Brisbane’s domestic and international airports.
UQ Orientation and free university preparation programs
A comprehensive orientation program is held for newly arrived international students in the Orientation Week held prior to the start of Semesters 1 and 2. Mini-orientations are provided for postgraduate research students who arrive at various times throughout the year. Two university preparation programs are offered free to new students, held prior to each semester: the Academic Preparation Program (APP) (three day duration), and the English for Specific Purposes (ESP-ACS) program (three week duration).
