Deakin University - Study Abroad
Deakin’s Study Abroad experience
As well as full degree courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, you can also choose to come to Deakin for a semester or a year as a Study Abroad student.
Australia’s vast size and diverse landscape offer a wide variety of experiences to visitors. By studying at Deakin in Victoria, you are only a few hours away from Australia’s natural wonders, including Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef, world heritage-listed forests, pristine beaches and more!

Study Abroad students have the advantage of experiencing all that Australia has to offer, while earning credit towards their degrees back home.
With more than 70 study areas across a wide range of disciplines to choose from, Study Abroad students are enrolled as regular Deakin students and complete units of study alongside local students. Some courses also include internship opportunities with Australian companies, allowing international students to gain a unique work experience in an Australian context.
Beach Orientation Trip
To help with the transition to Australian life, Study Abroad students go on a three-day

“Beach and Bush” orientation trip, exploring some of Australia’s most famous sights including the Great Ocean Road, the Twelve Apostles, Otways rainforest and Australia’s most famous surf beach, Bells Beach. Students will also have the chance to learn how to surf, dine on Australian “tucker” (food), learn all about Aussie Rules Football, and explore the Australian bush.
Diverse campuses
With campuses in metropolitan Melbourne and the coastal cities of Geelong and Warrnambool, DeakinUniversity captures the diversity and beauty of Australia, while offering students the chance to experience the best of Australian culture.
