Telecommunications
Australia has a full range of telecommunication services. So as you travel around you will be able to keep in touch with all your friends at your ‘new home’, as well as everyone at your ‘original home’, just as you would when you are studying.
Australia has an advanced telecommunications system, broadband and mobile networks exist throughout every city and increasingly there is more coverage in rural areas.
Most towns will offer Internet services; the local tourist information office will be able to assist you with discovering resources. In addition, you will have your mobile and phone card. It is important to remember however that when you are in outback Australia there is often no mobile service unless you are in a town. You can check your phone provider’s website for their coverage maps.
